Family-first
School timing, child ages, commute, neighborhood fit, healthcare, and visa pathway all matter together.
About Spainlander
Spainlander exists because the first year in Spain is full of solvable problems that become expensive when families meet them in the wrong order.
I moved my family from Canada to Valencia because we wanted the life Spain makes possible: walkable neighborhoods, strong healthcare, schools within reach, safer rhythms for kids, and a city that still feels human at family scale.
Even with Spanish roots and previous time living in Spain, the first year as parents surprised us. The visa calendar did not line up cleanly with school admissions. The NIE and empadronamiento steps affected other decisions. Rental timing mattered more than most guides admitted. Each piece was manageable, but the sequence was hard to see from outside Spain.
Spainlander turns that experience into a practical planning service for international families. We combine lived relocation, current research, education placement experience, and a working network of local professionals so families can arrive with fewer dead ends.
Our role is strategy. We help you understand what to do, when to do it, who to speak with, and which decisions carry real consequences. Lawyers, tax advisors, gestores, and admissions teams still do their jobs. We help you reach them prepared.
School timing, child ages, commute, neighborhood fit, healthcare, and visa pathway all matter together.
Every plan is shaped by real Valencia experience and maintained against current local conditions.
We advise families directly. We refer to specialists when their expertise is the right next step.
Professional guidance for every stage of your move.
